When Doctors and Chefs Cook Together

The Winter 2015 edition of the Virginia Hospital Center magazine has a great article on the collaboration between John R. Garrett,  MD, FACS, Virginia Hospital Center’s Chief of Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery and Matt Hill, chef extraordinare at Arlington’s Liberty Tavern and sister restaurants, Northside Social and Lyon Hall (NOTE: check out my review of Northside Social).

Dr. Garrett is apparently quite a chef with a bent towards fresh, local and healthy cuisine. Um, probably fairly obvious since he’s a heart specialist and surgeon. Matt is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and regularly creates seasonally-driven, delicious dishes at this three eating establishments.
